Since the owners wife died, they started closing on Sunday's so the enployees can go to church and have better family time.
Closed Sunday and Monday
Usually, the're open on Sunday. They close on Monday. Not sure why they're not open today..
The waitress was great, so was the food!!
This was truly one of the best breakfasts I've had at any restaurant. I had the 2 eggs, hash browns, and bacon, with a side of French toast. The eggs and bacon were great. I thought the hash browns could use a little more flavor, but the French toast - OMG! This is probably in the top two French toasts I've ever had and was the perfect sweetness to follow the rest of the meal. I'm only visiting, but it's a safe bet I'll be back before I leave the area. Staff was very friendly, too.
Excellent food and service! Love the atmosphere too!
Great atmosphere, just wish the food was better.
Great food, friendly service!
Very good food!
Had lunch there today and the food was good, BUT as I was eating I noticed that one of the waitress (dark short haired lady) was touching food and did not wash her hands. A order came up to go and the cook put it on a plate, she used her unwashed hands to put the top bun on the sandwich and put the food in a to go container. Someone needs to retrain the staff on proper food handling. Sorry but that Is the last time i go here.BTW... I watched her take orders from the counter, take food to people, and even pour the unused ice tea back, get ice more ice and refill the ice tea pitcher back up. At no time during my visit did she wash her hands before touching/inspecting the food before it went to customers. Even worse, she was wiping her nose too.
Very busy but great food.
Great diner atmosphere with higher quality food. Love breakfast here.
Definitely a locals favorite. Home cooked, good food and great service. Gets busy but so worth the wait.
I have lived in Mead 1.8 years now and JUST went here for the first time. We are more of an out for Dinner type of family. Anyway, kids got me up and we ventured over. The reviews are real, this place is good. The double biscuit and gravy plus two eggs and hashbrowns for $6.95 is a no brainer. Something special and different in the gravy made me smile... The triple stack of 10in round pancakes can tame any child for $6.95. My kids loved gulping down a hot chocolate with a tower of whipped cream on it.... You all are doing it up "real good", keep it up and we will be back.... Set your alarms people. Can't wait to try lunch here in the future....
Closes at 2pm and closed Mondays. Great food and selection.
Awesome home cooked meals. We had full breakfast as well as lunch. Highly recommend!
My wife and I are pretty disappointed that they have decided to close on Sundays as this is really the only day we are able to go together. That's really the only reason it loses one star. Otherwise, the service is great and the food never disappoints. Much of it is classic American breakfast food done right.
If you are driving past, you are missing out on a GREAT home cooked meal!
A bit of a wait for a table but the food and staff are worth it. Chicken Fried Steak is one of the best items on the menu.
We've always liked this place a LOT. Love coming for breakfast, great prices and great food, but the ONLY day we ever get to go out is Sunday morning and today we arrived to find it closed now!?!?!?!?! And 6 other cars pulled in and some parked to read sign. That's quite a disappointed group of hungry people that love your food!!!! Please re think being closed on a Sunday. We need a breakfast chimichanga!
Enjoyable atmosphere with a Midwestern feel and a real authentic Iowa tenderloin. I've loved all over Denver for one of them for a decade. Their breakfasts far out class any chain.
Stopped by here for a quick bite. Had the opened faced roast beef with mashed potatoes topped with a brown gravy. Very delicious. The side of corn was not as good. It wasn't bad, but didn't have much flavor. As I sat there, I was wondering how long this place has been doing business here... The restaurant seemed very clean. Come to find out, that they had been here for about 15 years. Nice to see they take pride in being a clean restaurant in a farming type community.
I really enjoy the Rooster- a big, open sunny place with very fresh, home-style recipes. Bacon & eggs, omelettes, biscuits, pancakes, amazing green chili and gravy dishes, also burger and sandwich choices and much more, and very fairly priced... okay now I'm gettin hungry! :-)Feels like they learned to cook from my grandma, and that's a great thing, give em a try!
Fantastic food and service in a cozy environment!! Great menu selection and has vegan or vegetarian options. My favorite go to spot.
Great food, I got takeout but they just opened back up for dine in. The chili sauce was incredible!
Some of the best biscuits and gravy around...
Had a marvelous visit to the Red Rooster with friends late this morning for an early lunch. All three of us had the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich, each accompanied buy a different side dish. Had the most amazing server, incidentally she was from Poughkeepsie New York, and the owner and chief cook, Dave, came after we were finished just to see how the meal was. We couldn't have been treated more like family. Our meals were perfectly done and totally sensational. We all love this place very much.
Really good food and service. Reasonably price, worth a trip
Always good food, and good service, they keep employees year after year, treat u like family
As a previous host/busser at this establishment, I have to say that I will never be disappointed. The food is always great. The staff are really friendly. The busy days have a small wait but the food is always worth it. The owner himself is a friendly man and a great cook. Couldn’t be happier every time I eat here.
Convenient location for a liesurly breakfast or lunch. Moderate pace service depending on the crowd. We did experience a wait to seat, and food. Overall the stop was good.
Very attentive staff, good prizes, good size portions. Food was flavorful. Definitely worth the money
Quite possibly the best Southwest Omelet I've ever had. Delicious!
SO GREAT. Our first meal.out since all the craziness. Great food. Great staff. Gotta LOVE Weld county!
Great food. Slow service
Fantastic MA and PA restaurant. Have been here for breakfast many times and never disappointed.
Really great place with good food and great service! Perfect for travelers off the highway or locals looking for a good meal.
Always awesome! Great food! Great Service! And always Great Staff!! There's only 5 Stars, so...
Wonderful little place. Staff are eager to seat and serve. Quickly turning into my go to breakfast stop when I pass through Longmont. Keep up the good work guys!
Really delicious food - friendly staff
Always excellent, thank you all.
Delicious comfort food and wonderful staff. Its always busy and welcoming.
This was my first time at this establishment. I don't live far from it & every time I pass by on Sunday mornings the parking lot is full. That's a good sign sometimes. We went there for breakfast on Saturday & the reason I am giving this place 5 stars is because I can't give it 6, but its worth 7 stars. Finally! A place that knows how to make biscuits & gravy. And my wife said she really enjoyed the chicken fried steak and let me have a taste. Lightly breaded & cooked to perfection. It was very tender & favorable. This place does it like mom used to do it and we will certainly be coming back for more. And by the way, the prices are unbeatable from what I have seen from nearby eateries.
Delicious food. Service is a little slow, but worth the wait
Fantastic food and even better prices. Staff is super friendly
